[40250] Reference Serverfile + Client + Src [15 Available Languages]

I understand this version is plugin-free. However, is it free from all the generally known critical bugs, such as p2p internal IP, dice, guild wars, etc.? Are there any large servers built on this infrastructure using plugins? Has at least the core been tested with a clean and high player count? If anyone knows, could they please help? Thanks.

With the help of the video included in the archive, I completed the installation flawlessly in almost 10 minutes. Great job! My advice to those who will install it is this: If you need to set the language, do it at the very beginning.

Is there anything related to auto core start in this file? My file sometimes changes its PID, I think the cores are restarting. I haven't installed vRunner; I'm using the original file.

[40250] Riferimento Serverfile + Client + Src [15 lingue disponibili]

Il mio obiettivo era quello di creare un file server di riferimento r40250 il più ufficiale possibile  rispetto a quello che GF aveva quando i suoi file sono trapelati all'inizio del 2014.
Nessun nuovo sistema aggiunto, solo correzioni di bug. Anche se ho dedicato diverse ore ai test, potrebbero esserci ancora dei bug. Segnalatemi i bug così potrò correggerli in
futuro: voglio che questo progetto sia il più possibile privo di bug .

我的目标是制作一个尽可能官方的 r40250 服务器 参考文件，使其与 GF 在 2014 年初文件泄露时提供的版本保持一致。
没有添加任何新系统，只修复了已知 bug。虽然我花了几个小时进行测试，但可能仍然存在 bug。请将 bug 报告给我，以便我将来能够修复它们

Hello. I have the same issue. Just started server (192.168.50.82) and changed ip in root. Pack, change root and I have black screen instead off login screen. Run client as admin with Windows 8 compatibility

My goal was to make a reference r40250 serverfile as official as possible compared to what GF had back when their files got leaked in early 2014.
No new systems added, only bug fixes. While I spent several hours testing, there may still be bugs. Please report bugs to me so I can fix them in the
future, I want to make this project as bug free as possible.

Please read Languages.txt to learn how to change the default EN language.

Hi everyone,

I'm setting up TMP4's r40250 reference serverfile on a real cloud VPS (not the bundled VM), and I've got the server fully compiled and running (db + auth + channel1, all connected to MySQL successfully, no errors in syserr).

The issue is on the client side. When I open Client.zip's Metin2Distribute.exe, I get "Error while connecting to the server" — turns out (confirmed via Process Monitor) the client is hardcoded to connect to 192.168.0.122:11000. I couldn't find this IP as plain text or raw bytes anywhere in the exe/dlls, so it must be inside pack/root.epk (encrypted, MCOZ header).

I set up a local port-forward (192.168.0.122:11000/13000-13002 → my real server) as a workaround, which got me past the error to "You will be connected to the server...", but it hangs there forever. On the server side, auth/packet_info.txt shows Handshake: 0 — the server never even registers the connection attempt at the application level, even though the TCP connection shows ESTABLISHED.

Questions:

Is there a known/safe tool to unpack root.eix/root.epk so I can find and edit the target IP directly (instead of the port-forward hack)?

Someone mentioned "FoxFS" for this — is that the right approach, and where can I find the current version/tutorial?

Could the "Handshake: 0" issue be something else entirely (client/server version mismatch, RSA key mismatch)?

You should look for core syslog/syserr. In there, look for the timestamp and check what happened. Usually DCs go in there. Look in all cores, start with the 3.
