I don't remember but it was some error I couldn't fix that wouldn't let the game start at all.

the files work, you need to configure some  things on your own as it says in the files. Uploading a virtual image is pointless, you can just get any virtual image and put these files there .

Calling things by the wrong name is bad behavior. The fact that so many people are doing this means that these bad habits are being passed around like a cheap whore. There's a reason that certain things are called what they are called, not so that they can be called by other names.

I don't expect anyone to be an expert, I was just making note of the fact that many people are calling dedicated servers "root servers" incorrectly. You don't need to take it as a personal attack on you.

I carried this with me since verison 8 because it was having issues installation mysql50-server. This seemed to be the only solution to the problem, and I always do it now and never have any issues. Maybe it will work for people now in version 9 but in 8 I had to do this or the database had problems.

I'm not being a douche, I'm attempting to repair the Metin2 community's bad behaviour in calling things something they aren't.

See this is the problem with people incorrectly calling a dedicated server a "root server". Root is a privilege level, not the name of a type of server. Now that people have confused you with incorrect terminology you're calling a VPS a "VPS root" which makes no sense by the incorrect definition (because they call a dedi a root and this is a VPS). So now in the normal world of terminology all you really have to say is "VPS".

Okay I'm done ranting about people calling dedicated servers by the wrong name..

If you're locked out of your VPS you should use some kind of VNC to get back in, your host may have provided something like VNC connection issue, or a KVM/IPMI login page or something. If you can't find it, contact your host and find out if there's any way you can regain access. They may be able to assist you by fixing that one problem so you can connect again. If you can't find a way to access the VPS indirectly (non-SSH), you would need to do a remote reinstall on your VPS.

you need to specify the socket in your itemshop script, it contains the time data.

different items use different sockets for the time.

create items ingame and check item.item to find out which sockets are used.

I have the same problem on 34083 with max level set to 150

THe only way you can level up without fixing this problem is "set name exp x" where x = the amount of xp to add.

How is PLN currency an advantage? What indication has the original poster given that he is Polish or wishes to pay in Polish currency? Most commonly hosts are paid for in GBP, USD, or EUR. So if either of those are the currency of the host it would be considered an advantage imo. Since most Metin2 admins and players are from Europe, EUR would most likely be the best currency of the three for an "advantage" because of the mass amount of players in countries using EUR (especially Germany) and only one country using GBP and a few using USD besides USA.

Anyways I think OVH is garbage, they can't protect against small attacks from my experience. I'm also at CloudCom (same thing as incloudibly). All the partner sites are basically the same. Also, you don't need an "unmetered network". You won't use much bandwidth and mosts hosts provide more than enough. For a semi-busy server including a patcher and website you would use maybe 3-4TB per month. I like to know what I'm getting and not get screwed by "fair use policies".

If you mean to login on navicat, it's up to you to configure that. These are server files, not a virtual image.
