Is MYSQL working? Do you have an OVH server? There may be an issue with mysql where it won't even run.

so download the stuff from the first link and delete what you need.. I don't see where the problem is

Go get the new db structure he's talking about, load it up and compare the proto to your existing one. AndreiS is suggesting that the correct proto settings are in the new structure from Shogun.

everything went good but how do i start the server i have it in the directory /home/home/game and there , there is the start.sh but i don't know what code to use

You just need to change your path to match the start script or change the start script to match your path. Use Notepad++ and be patient.

When I try to enter the web page content is blank. Any idea?

I don't remember exactly which setting it was but it's related to something in the nginx.conf I think.

Hello everyone!

 I saw even in this forum there are new private servers presentation,all looks the same,or others looks like another game,not metin.The beta items,costumes,pets,mounts,crystal energy and other had changed the beautiful of this game named Metin2.

 I'm playing metin2 for 4-5 years... this year i just waited for a privat server that i would like,but no succes..The ''core'' of metin has been changed by gameforge,i mean when they made beta items,lv 105 and this weird maps and tons of costumes,hair style ..

 In my opinion this game need to stay like it is i mean simple but good.The ''new items'' but now old like the king armour, the lunar sword,or the imperial helm and accesories were the items i liked the most and i tink everybody does,those items means metin, not the new item that we have now..Also the skills now are so easy to make,the bonus on items is easy to put and to get i mean from shop or item-shop.

 I remember 3-4 years ago about a privat server that i played..it was hard,very hard no bonus add or change,no books for skils,no soul stone or exorcism scrol in shops..there were just low lv items +9 in shop,money were precious and you were working for them farming clams v2 v3 or red forest.Skills were hard to make but who  had G or P was ''someone'' on that server.

 So let me say one more time the opinion of a metin2 player,don't make this game be like another game,keep it simple,keep it Metin2!

Do you remember the name of the server you played? It may have been one of mine or one that I played on too.

Using difs doesn't make your core "self coded" 

You can't have Enigma running, the game sees it as a cheat. You can't have other certain applications running either. Try closing things one by one then starting the game and you will find out what is running which is considered a cheat.

Enigma may or may not be detected as a virus depending on which software you use, if so it's only a false positive. Likely it's encrypted as well to fight against people taking Enigma itself apart.

Well it works in 9.2 .. if something changed you changed it.. if "something changed in freebsd" it means you are using a newer version of freebsd

What you're saying doesn't make any sense.. you just said it works and then that it "doesn't work anymore". This is a guide for installation, not a guide of preventing your own changes from stopping the server from working. If it worked in the beginning, it has achieved it's goal.

 

Why are you posting about the same problem in 2 threads? Also where is your db and game output? You have a warning.

The guide works fine. The guide is only a tutorial of installing things on FreeBSD that Metin2 needs to run. If your game file requires something special, it doesn't mean the tutorial is wrong. It means you need to make the appropriate changes to your installation to support your custom things that are not compatible with a normal install.

what if you set the game to run under "compatibility mode" and choose "windows 7" ?

i know MY client does not work on windows 8 (its old, 2011 one or 2010 modified ) but i solved that problem for many players with the compatibility mode setting

Even in compatibility mode it won't matter. Your client, isn't that the modified one from our server AlpineMT2?

as you said in PM your game won't open at all after you pack the client with Enigma. This is most likely because of the game thinking a cheat is running. However, there has been a recent issue with Windows 8 (I believe it's linked to the patches that came out on the 11th) which may be causing problems too. I'm already working directly with Enigma to have that problem fixed.

Now i can run my client with the modified intrologin.py and prototype.py with the OLD launcher, the new launcher still fails to launch :|

Maybe some problem installing the plugin or inserting the files eix/index and miles in the enigma?

can you try it with the uploaded files i gave to you in rar? (~3mb -> mylauncher+pack only with eix and index files, mss32.dll and miles folder)?

 

You mentioned problems with windows 8, but i'm running 7 home premium, also i don't have any cheat or hack turned on, so...

And i should be prompted with some warning window telling me to turn it off or something isn't it? I don't receive nothing, and not a single error in syserr.txt

*VT detection ratio is 5 / 48 due to my launcher (Client by Omega launcher)

 

 

EDIT: I came to the conclusion that using 2089M in game and respective client won't work, because binaries that open 2089m gamefiles are not supported by enigma. I'm actually trying to update to 34k, it will work then because i've tested it

 

It works on any bin file..

I will test it with VIRTUAL BOX if there any problem like "FATAL ERROR! File not exist: pack/Index" on win8,win8.1

 

The error is simply misleading, it has nothing to do with file virtualization. Even if you don't use virtualization you will get this error.

U can grap the loginInfo.py befor the client try to load it.

We just need to change the if-clauses to:

if Data.lower().find(".mix") != -1 or Data.lower().find(".m3d") != -1 or Data.lower().find(".flt") != -1 or Data.lower().find("logininfo.py") != -1:

Now the file will be killed before the intrologin.py get called

PS: Now u cant inject files like .MIX, .M3D and .FLT (The orginal wont block them or remove)

Wrong, the way I said prevents the client from running if that logininfo.py file exists and deletes the other files upon launch of the client.

Windows method:

Go to quest folder, select all files (except qc thing) rightclick-> open with notepad++

Now press CTRL + F type in the word you search and click on "Search in files"

Now in the console in bottom you will see all uses of this word

 

 

I use this and i think is better whit notepad++

 

Ps. Rename .quest in .lua , is a better view

 

No need to rename the .quest files.

Open the Style Configurator and and the user extension "quest". Open the quest_functions and copy everything. Paste that into the User-defined keywords for one of the Styles in the Lua language.

enter the mysql prompt on your server

grant the privileges and set the password for a user account for metin2 .. for example "mt2"
