Metin2 Server on linux

OK i am the first person posting on this forum

So my question is... I haven't seen anyone compiling the game on linux.

Why so?? Why FreeBSD and not Ubuntu or CentOS or Fedora or something like that??

FreeBSD is not another distribution of Linux it's a completely different OS although both are based on Unix. The reason you saw people compiling it for Windows is that YMIR actually started a Windows port long ago. However it was never planned to run on Linux and I don't see any advantage on doing it when FreeBSD is as capable if not more than Linux.

As to why you havent seen people do it yet: 

The network code is using kqueue which isnt available on linux, you have to port it
