Hello, I am Jettyx, and over the past year, I’ve been developing the next-gen graphics for Metin2: JTX Graphics v2.0.
The graphics are fully dynamic and procedural, including weather, time, and sky.
This is not the final version, development is ongoing, but enjoy this preview showcase.

Almost everyone is still using DX9. So, completely correct. Only a few are using real DX11/12, no wrapper.

 

Good work, nice to see what's possible, but what about performance?

Performance is gonna be worse that s for sure , everyone expects new complex graphics that are gonna work on 1gb ram 512 mb graphics card just as the 2004 ones. Seen a comment on his graphics somewhere else saying that  his laptop fans increased speed and that the graphic card was reaching 80% (that s for the 1st version).Well, well ,well if you re using low end hardware that s for sure gonna happen but let's think different about it. Haven't seen anybody complaining about new titles eating so much resources. It always resorts to "just buy better gpu, cpu etc" in order to play the game. With that being said, everyone complaining about performance and loading with new graphics still lives in 2004. While some things can be optimized, the impact on resources is always gonna be higher.The graphics look really nice for a game so old.

Honestly I've seen a lot of projects and looks wise this is somewhere near the top. I've seen bgfx forks that looked worse. Water looks like them SA mods, the light is pretty but still "one directional" and the geometry looks f'kd a bit. I wish we could see a video. But it looks pretty solid in general.
