I am currently working on the Pserver section.

Since my files or source is not even ready to use

I would like to know 3 things, maybe you can help me.

  • which are the best files with which you can build a server
now forget the source. It's only about the basic files.

  • Which clients do most take?

  • Which public source do most people use? please only free
I don't like to take source from eg MartySama, which you have
    to buy first.

As you have noticed, fem2 is a kind of database, for
beginners as well as professionals. The idea behind it is simple,
a tool for everything. And with our current example, with files and
source etc., the point is that if you only find garbage, you still have
something in hand that works.

Files: 34k Untouched

Client: No clue, propably an official one from around that time

Source: Marty or Vanilla

Others prefer Fliege Files which are great aswell, though I'd argue sticking to the offical Files is even cleaner

Hi Guys,

today when i wanted to test forevermetin2 it didn't work because it couldn't load it from the web.

My Webspeace seems to have expired, so there are 0 files more on it. Well, I always have backups.

Unfortunately the latest version is not coming this month, because I only need a Webspeace.

For those who need something, I will provide something else until then. I'm so sorry.

This feature is there if you have a map and do not know which objects this map uses or

which are missing. If you have e.g. 100 objects but only 5 of them are used, it is stupid to

pack all 100 with them. don't you think?

Thank you Artur for this code.

Hi, in the video I see that it finds the missing ones. That's not of much use normally as you would have no way to know which objects those YPRTs represent. You can't delete them from the map either because the tool is not doing that for you or telling you where they are (though it would be trivial to find them with Notepad++ and similar tools)

Finding the unused ones is a completely different thing as it would involve

1) searching every map folder and building a list of all unique YPRTs found

2) compare said list against property and build a list of unused properties, but only those  which point to zone or tree  -properties can also point to effect, guild etc., but only tree and zone can sort of guarantee us we aren't going to delete something we shouldn't, as long as we built our client following the "guidelines"

3) compare against zone and build a list of unused gr2, spt, mde files

That would allow us to remove unused gr2, mde and mdatr files, but it still doesn't solve the question of which textures we can delete - unless we program reading of those paths off the gr2/mde/spt files, which would not be trivial.

Anyhow, here is, in case it's of any use, a python 2.7 script I made that moves all USED terrainmaps to a new folder (needs textureset and terraimaps to be a subfolder of the working dir). Disclaimer: I don't really know python.

@Shogun

Wow you really took your time. Thank you first Shogun. Yes, you have rights. The missing

objects appear "useless" because you have to search them in different folders via notpad ++.

That with textures is quite a good idea, which I could also incorporate here if I got the code

for C #.

For now, what I have is enough for me. Instead of writing down each object individually and

forgetting a few times, it helps a lot. I would like to provide your code for later updates in the tool, if you allow me.

Hello my friends,

I hope you are fine in these times and sorry for pushing this thread

but unfortunately there is no feature:

Spoiler

You can give an orc tooth once an hour, and the thread is pushed for that

It is best to insert a biologist.

Now seriously, install a button that pulls a yang and pushes the thread once a day.

What I wanted to tell you ?

Spoiler

Unfortunately I don't see much interest in Forevermetin2. I can understand that too, because the tool cannot do much yet. The tool was also not intended for the public but only for my purposes. I had hope that someone can help me or several people, I don't deserve it. There is a lot of work in Forevermetin2, so I think it makes sense to only give people who are really interested in it, but for now I will keep it to myself. The Poll is only there so that I can see who is really cool about what I'm doing here.

Can you do C # (WPF)? if you have it under control, get in touch with me :)

Kind regards
