Game Revision Poll

[Shogun 5791]

Hi guys,

I thought it would be a good idea to take some surveys about the current trends in metin2 servers and I will start today asking about the game core you are using for your local or dedicated server

If you choose one not listed here you can tell us in the thread which one and why.

For those who don't know their game version it's very easy to find out. Just navigate to where your game file is located in the server and run this command:

cat VERSION.txt

Revision 40424 small in size and convenient

Sorry my ignorance, but with "our own game and file bynarie" you mean with diffs and/or source modifications?

[Metin2 Dev 12288]

Source modifications, since its completely different from released versions.

[Aveline™ 718]

I think so. I say "My Own Game" already it's public source files on forums . Source code is perfect for c++ users. Ehehehe

I was use vanilla core in live server but now i find team and making self game core with team.

I think it's better to use your own game core and binary because you will know what exactly are happening to them, for example you can get more error handling because you have the source code.

Difs would be a little senseless if there's the src. But yes, "own" means developed c++ source.

Not everyone can develop their own core and for those who can't I suggest using the Vanilla Core.

No one how now how to work with the source will use this Vanilla Core.

The reason for that is that the source code isn't available.

Kind regards

Vanilla is the best if you haven't the knowledge to create your own core or if you haven't much time to work also on gamecore.
