Anyway to speed up quests text?

[mk8 3]

As the title already says I am looking for a way to speed up the text in quests, e.g. when you talk to an NPC or open a quest which gives you information...

Any solutions for this?

Thanks in advance!

PythonEventManager.cpp

const long c_lNormal_Waiting_Time = 0;

personally, i've modified my say_title function this way.

say_title = function(name, width, height)
    setdelay(0);
    say(color256(255, 230, 186)..string.format("%s[WINDOW_SIZE width;%d|height;%d]", name or "", width or 350, height or 300)..color256(196, 196, 196));
end -- function

and my quests run at the speed of light, the setdelay(0) is sufficient and does its work perfectly.

Cant seem to fit this into a post other than this screenshot. With this you can make your quest text faster(close to instant) when you have a server.

Its not much to do really, but this website wont let me post the code and directory.

If you send me a private message i send you the function. (For lazy people :P)

After that no problems and fast text.

I do hope anyone finds this useful.

Literally just add setdelay(0) at the beginning of say_title function, in questlib.lua. It's not necessary to overcomplicate things.

maybe you are right. xD

INSTANT_QUEST_TEXT = true

local __orig_say = say
function say(msg)
    if INSTANT_QUEST_TEXT then
        raw_script("[DELAY value;0]")
        __orig_say(msg)
        raw_script("[/DELAY]")
    else
        __orig_say(msg)
    end
end

maybe this is too much, but you can turn it off or change text speed with this ^^ but yea your way is easier and better in the end.
