Welcome.
I'm fairly new in creating metin2 servers and I would like to find out more information about the whole architecture behind metin2 ecosystem and the process of its creation.
If that would be helpful, I know Python, C++ and Linux system administration quite well. (Here's the first question: Is is worthwhile to port server source to compile and run on Linux, or just stick with BSD?)
Firstly, could you explain me what are those seperate components of metin2 server and how they relay upon each other? (The database structure, binaries like game or db)
How channels are being handled by server?
How server is being started?
Something about codebase (kraizy) in general, perhaps?
Basically everything that might be helpful for newbie.
