  1. Your client binary is most likely not compatible with server.
  2. It's commercial product. I really doubt you will ever find this.
  3. Don't forget it's legacy code base and refactoring this would be very hard. Lots of new bugs would be introduced, some of them unnoticeable at first. Although, noble endeavor, indeed. I'd be glad to see this project afterall, and perhaps I could help somehow?

People making posts like "in file a, change this, then in file c change this, then delete this line"? At least consider using some patch control using Quilt. Private repository on gitlab.com is more than just pull requests. It provides issue tracking and makes sure you won't lose your work again. But I think I understand you. Messing with Metin2 code base is interesting, but unfortunately it's not, and will never be legal.
  5. Welcome. I'm fairly new in creating metin2 servers and I would like to find out more information about the whole architecture behind metin2 ecosystem and the process of its creation. If that would be helpful, I know Python, C++ and Linux system administration quite well. (Here's the first question: Is is worthwhile to port server source to compile and run on Linux, or just stick with BSD?) Firstly, could you explain me what are those seperate components of metin2 server and how they relay upon each other? (The database structure, binaries like game or db) How channels are being handled by server? How server is being started? Something about codebase (kraizy) in general, perhaps? Basically everything that might be helpful for newbie. Thank you for your help! Malakian.
  6. I could do more, but I had no idea which textures should I put since it is desert. Just my opinion. In my case... I'd never work with height brushes the same way as Sonitex does. In my opinion you should NEVER work with them like this. It's wrong from the start. It needs more precision and much more patience to make them look "good".It's not only about doing some mountain and then smooth it. This will not create much realistic mountains.Then there are places where are placed the objects.. these seem not terrible, but still boring. About the texturing.. try to look at some desert images, which you can find simply with use of google search and see how these "desert towns" look.I can post some example.It's still not as perfect as others on this forum can do it, but it looks way better than the "wannabe mappers" do.But still!!! No offense, man.. Everyone needs to find own way how to create good maps, keep it up, nothing's possible withohut practice. Very impressive map. The amount of details adds even more immersive feel. Would you mind sharing it?
