Problem with installing MySQL

Hi!

I am trying to make a VDI, but I can't install the MySQL.

I have tried to input those commands but when it tries to fetch it says -> No Address Record 

cd /usr/ports/databases/mysql56-server

make WITH_XCHARSET=all install clean

And I cannot connect with putty/FileZilla

Try this:

ping google.com

To see if it can connect to the internet properly.

If it doenst work, try this also:

ping 8.8.8.8

If it works on the second time, your dns setup is wrong.

and then

ping 8.8.8.8

Do this (or edit it by sftp with a text editor):

ee /etc/resolv.conf

and add this line (if theres written nameserver, just add that ip in front of it. Otherwise write it all, thats google dns):

nameserver 8.8.8.8

and save the file.

1. your dns setup is wrong

2.avoid any mysql version after 5.5 unless you know what you are doing

if you are using virtual maching runing from virtual box or anyother cross-platform virtualization application. then make sure that the network config are set correctly.
