Help i cant connect to my VPS



Hello everbody.


I just bought a VPS and i install FreeBSD 9.3 on it.

but i can't connect to the vps with puTTY or with filezilla

i didn't change anything in sysinstall > configure > networking > interfaces.


i try to connect to the public ip.


can someone help me?

or explain me how to fix this?

It's not possible to access SSH as root on a default FreeBSD install. You have to edit /etc/ssh/sshd_config and edit the following lines from KVM console:


#PermitRootLogin no


change to


PermitRootLogin yes




#PasswordAuthentication no


change to


PasswordAuthentication yes
