Howto compile the server source?

i want to know howto compile the serverside part of the source. I have heard it should be compile with freebsd or windows. Which of the folder in the Source is the newest? Mainline_released  or? How can i compile it? Can anyone make a Howto about it please?

you need just install VMWare and make new Virtual pc then select disk!!

you can compile, Network doesnt matter if you have full applications/include. For you first download FreeBSD virtual image on 1st Link 10 gb but you can download, then install on VMWARE and Youc an just write command gmake -j20 and auto compile.
