Is it considered a good practice to change the ports for more security?

Question

Basically the title. Something about someone knowing which ports the server is running on right off the bat doesn't sit right with me. So I'm wondering, is it generally a good practice to change the default ports of each of auth, ch, and db to completely random ones? Or it doesn't make any difference somehow?

I agree that changing the ports the server is running on won't provide you with more security. I think it would be better for you to limit unnecessary lateral communications, it'll work like installing an ajax system in your house, and I'm pretty sure that it'll help you make a server more secure. Have you even thought of it?

For more security you can use ipfw. If you go on cmd and type "netstat -n" can see all IPs running for your game/application and can be easily found Metin2 IP + port.
