Compile sources on a old laptop

Hello community. I have an old laptop with 4GB RAM DDR3, a Pentiun B960 2.2Ghz proccesor and a integrated GPU.

I can install freebsd on it to compile my metin2 sources? I don't use this laptop anymore. I want to know required dependencies, a private network hub (like 192.168.X.X), and etc.

Compilling will take ages on it, I mean, it will be kinda long. But you can use it to host your local server if you want

Host my local server? What? I don't understand.

I want to use my old laptop as a "server", install FreeBSD on it and connect to it via putty on my pc.

You need install FreeBSD on your laptop yes 

 

With ifconfig you see the IP from the laptop and you can connect with ssh to this in your network
