  1. Thank you for you answer. However, I've had that into account, and for that reason tried more than 5 different versions (including the one that is in the print in the first post).
  2. I tried everything. Nothing seems to be able to compile this. It always appear some kind of stupid error. Tried with different versions. If anyone could help me doing this, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

    Gameforge sucks

I can not really open the tr board link, can anyone print/copy the whole page (and not just that little bit that, I suppose, VegaS did)?
  4. Hey! I've been busy for months, and recently decided to get back to this game. I've been reading a lot of theory, lately. However, it's 2019, and I'd like to start getting into practice. Where do you guys recommend me to start? In fact, I don't even know which apps/tools should I be using to start developing in this game. Should I buy a VPS to run some tests? Or is it sill feasable to run a server in a personal computer? Edit (forgot to say): I'd like to start with something clean. I read somewhere that it is possible for us to create our own serverfiles (from the beginning) - if someone could give an idea of how to do that I'd very much appreciate it - Sorry for my english, btw. Thanks, in advance.
  5. Before even starting to create a Metin2 private server, I'd like to know about client security. For what I've read, one of our main concerns should be make our eix and epk files descompressible-proof (this doesn't sound right, I used Google Translate on this one), and for this, I mean, making anyone unable to unpack our eix and epk using EterNexus. Apparently, that is easy (I didn't test it, but there are a few tutorials on it), but some people talked about some advanced security, and that means there is another way of unpacking eix and epk files, right? I'd like to know what is the best way to make our eix and epk files fully "descompressible-proof". The second point is, I think, having a good protection against cheats. What do you guys recommend? I read that there's no way of making M2Bob undetectable, for example. Is that true? I mean, I think there's no point of even playing this game if there's such a powerful tool as M2Bob and nobody can do anything to stop it. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this things. Maybe you can add some more stuff that I forgot. My english is not the best, so I kind of used Google Translate, sometimes. Thank you!
  6. Ham, that doesn't look like a good way of thinking: "Why would I do something, if it works exactly how it is?" But I still understand. Thank you both for your answers. Topic solved.
  7. Ham, that makes sense, mate. Thank you for you answer! To see if I understood, people keep using things that are not updated because it is the only way, since most don't have the knowledge required to update them, right?
  8. Hey. I've been trying to understand why do people keep using older versions of things like FreeBSD (9.2 when latest version is 11.2), Python (2.7 when latest version is 3.7), Visual Studio (2012 when latest version is 2017 15.8) and 32-bit architecture (when 64-bit is "better"). Maybe someone can explain this, since I'm noob to this things. Wouldn't it be better to use updated versions of those things? Thank you!
  9. I will briefly introduce myself: I am Groot and I've been playing online for about 10 years. Metin2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I decided to join this forum to learn more about the development of the game and start a server. Thank you!
