Stackable Items
If you're working with .txt, the FLAG for stackable items is "ITEM_STACKABLE". But i would recommend to only work with the db and use Mysql2Proto, in that case the FLAG for stackable items is "4". (research how a bitmask is working) Either way you have to make sure your proto is equal clientside & serverside. -

alright i found out there were some more functions above the DWORD index = 0; in the original file so had to delete them too and now works -

Cool Start with Items - Ymir Way
Thank you for always saying what you think, it is appreciated ngl. The handling of sockets and bonuses is not something essential, I just added it to extend it a bit before releasing it so it doesn't seems that I'm writing a quest in c++, it's just extra broth put there, what I liked was the Ymir approach never used! However, that's 16 extra lines of code (6 of which are parentheses), and in json you can simply don't use them You also have to consider that in order to share something on the forum you have to package it well, I can't come here and say “guys ymir used this code in china do it too.” a bit of effort was required -

Stackable Items
Hello metin2dev community, i've been struggling for a couple of days to make some items stackable, i'm using the TMP4 40250 serverfiles, i've been trying to edit different parts of Item_proto but none seem to make a difference, serverwise , i did do that in client with a costume and the bonuses we're there but they didnt apply when i equipped it . does anyone know what i can do about this? what im doing wrong w the proto? thanks all! (PS my files are .txt not .sql) -

Yeah I'll recommend to go with FreeBSD, the only OSS Linux version literally has a heads up saying you shouldn't use it in prod -

i extracted the effects.eix and put there then packaged ant put in pack files even though there is no change at all. It does not change i dont understand i delete the old images and put the new ones but still shows old ones even -

How to set up a clean Metin2 server – Linux or FreeBSD?
Hello, you can run a Metin2 server on Linux but you will be more on your own than on FreeBSD if things go south, so I would say it is based on your skills and confidence. As for the sources, either go with renowned sellers or go with TMP4 (free and good). The aforementioned topic is based out of them. Most sources and files include a working client with them. Minimum requirement depends on your needs, but any 15$ dedicated server would do enough for most people and modest servers. As for tutorials, it is pretty much scattered here and there on the platform, but it is usually streamlined. -

Cool Start with Items - Ymir Way
Great work, I would say I am unsure about that one, on the one hand it is probably the most powerful way to handle this and fairly fail-safe, but on the other hand it is some boilerplate code and it feels like reinventing the wheel. I would prefer the original way for really "basic" items but as soon as we need to go the extra mile and really provide specific items and modify it on the fly, this take the edge fairly quickly. I also like the fact that it can be easily extended (like allow random rare attr on the json would simply mean a token and a few lines of c++) AND that this can be reused for other parts. I really feel like it can be a powerful way to give "uniform" items in the case of events for example, or even battle-pass and whatnot. Great release and great use of lovely forgotten code!- 2

It would not be wrong to say that this is a great contribution from a great man, as there were many members in the community looking for this. Considering that there are still servers that give starter items with quests or cmd commands, this new way is quite good.- 2
