Chances of getting caught

Hello,

me and my friends want to create a Server just for fun right now and try some things out. We were wondering, if we were to release the Server to the Public, what are the chances of Gameforge closing our Server or even go after us in Reallife? Are there ways to prevent this ?

It depends.

If your server is sucessfully running with a considered number of players online, expect them to put you on their list.
In a normal case, first GF sends you a letter saying that you have X days to close the server or expect a lawsuit.

If that day comes, just comply with what they are saying and close it, or else they will go after you in real life.

in germany they dont warn you, they knock on your door and take all your stuff

We had multiple cases in the recent past. Gameforge is actively chasing servers atm.

 

Your web- and game server should be paid anonymously. Don't access with your real IP on any live server. Same goes for donations, try go get as anonym as you can.
