Newbie with lots of questions.

Hey team! Nice to meet you, I'm new here. This is the very first time I visit a community about M2 server and game developing. I was playing Metin2 when I was young and was trying to open my own server but I didn't really now what I was doing. Now years have passed...and I know some programming, so I'm thinking of opening a server just for fun. I have some questions as a newbie :

1) Metin2 is closed source right? But how did you get the server files?

2) Assuming somehow you got them, most of you should be reverse engineers right?

3) If you didn't got the server files from gameforge or ymir or idk which company has them, did you build the whole server thing from scratch? I mean game protocols, databases and all other stuff this is a huge project and also requires a lot of reversing on the client side.

4) Can I find anywhere the original server files without edits so I can edit them and also know what code I'm running?

1. metin2 is open source since the beginning of 2015. through a leak.
2. no, 1/10 here are actually reverse engineers.
3. as i said before, we got everything through a leak.
4. you can give it a search.
