I use vscode which uses utf-8 by default, and src files are in iso-8859-1 (although not all of them). If someone uses vscode can add to settings: { "files.autoGuessEncoding": true, }

@ Shogun You need the mysql56 files to even compile src. First error when trying to compile: gmake: *** No rule to make target '/usr/local/include/mysql/typelib.h', needed by 'OBJDIR/BattleArena.o'. Stop. typelib.h was in mysql56 and was removed in newer versions. Mariadb also doesn't contain this file, there will probably be more compatibility issues during compilation.
