This might sound weird for you guys here, but I’m looking for someone who is willing to teach me the basics of setting up a metin2 server. I have no idea what I’m supposed to do with PuTTY or WinSCP and all these Serverfiles/Binaries that keep showing up here. The only thing I know is how to mount an already set-up server in Virtual Box, that is outdated and heavily modified, enter my Hamachi IP here and there and run the game from a crappy client. I suppose that would be enough, but several in-game features are broken or missing entirely, items are inconsistent, there are no quests, the database is a mess and well…everything is in German.
Basically what I want to know is how to set up a clean, updated server that is hopefully in English and playable. I don't really care about Register pages or whatever, I only want the server for personal use.
I tried to find a tutorial here that would help me out, but it seems I know too little to actually use any of the guides available. I don’t know if this is really the place to ask, but I would appreciate the help and I’m willing to pay.
