yeah... i fixed it loading the protos from the txt files

with the database it doesn't work

but on 40250 it works without problems

and if i remove the item, the same error with a other vnum appears.

The item doesn't exist in your protos, isn't vanilla's fault.

 

The "~" in the item_proto File isn't used as i see this... (example: )

don't know if it's a vanilla error

Did you check if the item exists in your item_proto?

In my files it wasn't the case.

 

Next version coming soon with toggleable global chat, immun bug fix and some other tweaks.

it doesn't exist, but in the blank 40250 game - who would have thought it - it also doesn't exist! and the server works fine...

i got a problem, maybe you know the solution?
i was using a 40250 game, but now i use vanilla core.
with the 40250 my special_item_group wasn't a problem, but with the vanilla core it fails.... the same one. exactly.
do you had such issues?

I've heard only good things about vilayer but i won't test it on my serverstart

they're offering european dedicated servers with ddos protection.

i would use the following additional options to an i5 server:

1 GBit/s Uplink Port

SEC-LAYER Level 3 (Upto 3Gbps)

maybe

Dedicated PFSense Firewall Appliance (1 GBit/s) 

if anyone does have a positive experience with vilayer, please tell me your thoughts

yes,

2) Do you use any kind of DOS protection method?

yes, i use OVH as already said by nightwish this is a good, cheap protection. if you secure your server a lil bit, you should survive most of the attacks.

3) If yes, which one? Would you recommend it?

good question, if you don't have enough money to buy a better protected root i would recommend it. but if you have enough money to purchase a dedicated server from incloudibly, i would rather take the incloudibly server

4) Would you be interested in a low-cost DOS protection service?

maybe. for website hosting it would be nice but i prefer to host my gameserver myself, because i don't want that someone get's access to my data.
