problem with root access

So i bought a vps to host my m2server,i dont have root access i only have an other user access where i can't do many things.My host is telling me to type the command sudo su so i can have root access on putty but the problem doesn't get solved as i cant login as root from winscp and also cant type some commands.(this is a problem i get from winscp when im trying to upload a file or edit https://metin2.download/picture/3vzW8s3uEP6WOUh0PWHf21W7xRpH1J37/.png)

i dont know what i should do i tried to enable root permission with this command ee /etc/ssh/sshd_config but i get this problem when im trying to save the file https://metin2.download/picture/6fA1MHO4Rp7hm17ixnpWkNJF2CY3H9qY/.png i dont know what i should do anymore..im giving up i called my host and told them my problem and they told me that they dont offer managed vps and i should do whatever i want by myself..if anyone can help so i have root access so i can have permission for commands and login to winscp please tell me what i should do.. i'd appreciate if anyone is willing to help me to solve this problem..

also remove the # if you edit something ( beter use ee instead of vi for editors)
