from this i understood that you know nothing about it, pdo is a php extension/driver and MySQL is a database so this must be some ripoff that i won't even look at.

It always have been a PHP problem, since PHP pre 7 lacks a lot on security.

There are scripts from darkdev, one friend that creates sites for metin. You updated all scripts to pdo?

mysql also it's an extesion, that was removed since php 7, and deprecated since php 5.5.

You are totally right but pdo its more paramatized from mysql (not mysqli cause mysqli is updated to) so i can me something like "more secure"
the thing i want to say is that 80% metin2 public sites now are with old code(mysql) and you can find some backdoors

nope. You are wrong.

MySQL is the database, maybe what you are looking for is the PHP MYSQL Connector/API which is a totally different thing:

@Fleon You mister are very wrong. There is mysql, mysqli and pdo which mysqli and pdo have prepared statements which makes them more secure. But just because mysql is old and pdo is new doesn't mean pdo will always be safer rather than a mysql coded website.

Yes, it will be safer, they made it for a reason.

Just quit calling it MySQL and start saying things for what they are, like "I did not use the deprecated and unsecure mysql connector in this source instead i opted for the newest PDO extension" or something like that

code tip for OP, start using functions and less inline php, from a non-php coder

@Mariuk3 No i didn't steal your website of course! i just updated it for all people i seen like loads of them use this website and its totally unsecured * MySQL * so i just converted it into PDO
All your copyrights are still there i didn't remove them lol , if it bothered you i am sorry and i will delete this post right away.

and to other people who said that i understand nothing about security, i am a Laravel developer for almost 2 years lol. i just updated this website to pdo so people who use it in mysql just move to a more secured version, i am not claiming that this website is the most secured tho

all i did was like a kind of a hand to admins who have lack of experience in php or who don't have money to buy websites. not stealing a website or showing off -.-
