How to reset the root password on FreeBSD ?

Hi guys, today i'm gonna show you how to reset a root password usualy as a .vdi FreeBSD x.x doesen't depend actually wich version because those are default commands initialy launched from the begining of FreeBSD.

I am not sure if this is posted somewhere if yes, please excuse me, so let's move on.

First thing, when starting the .vdi at the loader screen choose Single User Mode, in my case this is sortet as option number 2 so after pressing 2 the FreeBSD is loading a bunch of codes and we have to wait a little.

The number where the Single User Mode is set can be different from FreeBSD to FreeBSD.

 

Second, now after the machins is prompt and we are in the /bin/sh we can change our password.

Enter the following commands:


  

fsck


Then just press y when asked until you finish and see the following screen.

After making the fsck (wich help us changing the password with no errors) use the following commands: 

mount -u /
mount -a
passwd

After hitting the passwd command, just enter your new password and it should be fine, reboot and that's it!

Also do not use this in notice_all because it will notice all in the player's language... Maybe use ["en"] to display notice_alls in english for everyone or code some translating mechanism for the client (e.g. replace chars when displaying the messages depending on the current lang). +1 note: the default qc did not like the [get_lang_name()] in the when statement but a friend gave me a "fixed" qc which you can download here.

      [Quest Scheduler Request] Is there a way to make a quest run independet of player events? Lets say start quest automatically at server startup?

      [INGAME] RGB Color on chat broken

      Hello all, It's my own created bug. I made many changes(implenting of systems) and I didn't noticed until now, so I'm not sure what invoke the below bug. If anyone could help me. The below there is a description of bug, feel free to ask parts of code etc... This text is CHAT_TYPE_SHOUT --> Call. But when add the Chatlogs Window above, the result of color is correct. The same happends with all kinds of chat.(Guild,party etc..) I'm not sure for reason but I can see the correct color in chat, when the screen/background/frontground is darker. (E.g. I tried to take a screenshot of bug with Lightshot the screen became darker and then the color of text was correct(green in this case).

I saw that the grass is grey too, but it has the textures in D:\ymir work\zone\dl2_gras\Foliage_SPR_S007_Diff.dds But if does not work for you please try to open it with a picture editor like photoshop click on "save as" and rewrite the old .dds
