That mean the field "name" exist on both tables, monarch and player.

Modify the query using a.name or b.name instead only name.

example

SELECT empire, pid, a.name, money, windate FROM monarch a, player b where a.pid=b.id

use sql monarch:

SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=0;

-- ----------------------------
-- Table structure for monarch
-- ----------------------------
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `monarch`;
CREATE TABLE `monarch` (
  `empire` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL DEFAULT '0',
  `pid` int(10) unsigned DEFAULT NULL,
  `windate` datetime DEFAULT NULL,
  `money` bigint(20) unsigned DEFAULT NULL,
  PRIMARY KEY (`empire`)
) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1;
