Hello Owsap,
Yes, I will change to a VPS in the future, but not the cheapest one. I find that my old 3GB ram laptop is way better than an 1GB VPS.
Microsoft Loopback Adapter is necessary on FreeBSD? I have installed FreeBSD as the only OS on that laptop.
So is not possible with my ideea usign No-Ip plus port forwarding? I would not like to use hamachi or other stuff, and I prefere to use that laptop as a dedicated server.
I am sorry if i say stupid stuff, I am not really into networking.
Edit:
What I understand, people will try to connect to the IP of that laptop. In my case will be name.zapto.org or something like that. By using port forwarding, my router will send them to the needed ports. So, on the serverside, I will use the local IPv4 IP i have on my laptop (192.168.x.x), and on the client the DNS from NO-IP. Is that right?
I will also need to open some ports for FileZilla connection and for database acces, outside of my home.
Will this work? I cannot try it at this moment, I will be free on weekend, but I want to documentate good before I start doing things.
